Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms govern your use of the MediGo Lanka platform ("Service"). By creating an account, booking a consultation or sending an inquiry you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

MediGo Lanka provides a technology platform that connects users with independently practising doctors based in Sri Lanka. We are not a healthcare provider. The doctor is solely responsible for the clinical content of the consultation, including diagnosis, advice and prescriptions.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to register an account. Bookings on behalf of children must be made by their parent or legal guardian. You confirm that any information you provide is accurate and you are legally able to consent to the consultation.

4. Bookings and payments

Consultation fees are quoted in GBP and charged at the time of booking via Stripe. Once a booking is confirmed, your slot is reserved. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the appointment receive a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows are non-refundable.

5. Telehealth limitations

Online consultations are not suitable for medical emergencies. If you or someone in your care is experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (999 in the UK, 1990 in Sri Lanka). The doctor may decide that your concern requires in-person care; in that case they will advise you accordingly and you will not be charged.

6. Doctor verification

We verify each clinician against the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) register and check qualifications and hospital affiliation before they appear on the platform. However, you accept that practising medicine remains the doctor's individual responsibility and that MediGo Lanka does not provide medical advice.

7. Prescriptions

Doctors may issue a Sri Lankan prescription valid for use at SL pharmacies. UK prescriptions are not currently supported. Some medications may be controlled or unavailable depending on jurisdiction; the doctor will advise.

8. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@medigolanka.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

9. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to harass clinicians or other users, attempt to access another user's account, upload malicious content, attempt to circumvent our security, or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate your account for breach.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, MediGo Lanka's total liability arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with the platform, email complaints@medigolanka.com and we will respond within 5 working days. Clinical complaints about a specific doctor can also be escalated to the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts of England, except that consumers benefit from any mandatory protections of the country in which they reside.

These Terms & Conditions are provided for informational purposes and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified UK/SL solicitor. Have them reviewed by a healthcare and telemedicine specialist lawyer before going live.
